Well, last Friday, I was diagnosed with mild carpal tunnel syndrome and tendinitis in my right hand. Which explains why it hurts to use the mouse with my right hand, and to type for periods longer than about 20 minutes. Now, I've been seeing people talking about a cool new input device, called the TouchStream made by a company called FingerWorks. As it happens, they will be releasing a special version of their device which snaps in place of the regular 15" TiBook keyboard. A survey done at Cornell University seems to bode well.

According to this, I am Frank Warner's Foundations of Differentiable Manifolds and Lie Groups.
If I were a Springer-Verlag Graduate Text in Mathematics, I would be Frank Warner's Foundations of Differentiable Manifolds and Lie Groups.
I give a clear, detailed, and careful development of the basic facts on manifold theory and Lie Groups. I include differentiable manifolds, tensors and differentiable forms. Lie groups and homogenous spaces, integration on manifolds, and in addition provide a proof of the de Rham theorem via sheaf cohomology theory, and develop the local theory of elliptic operators culminating in a proof of the Hodge theorem. Those interested in any of the diverse areas of mathematics requiring the notion of a differentiable manifold will find me extremely useful.
Well, I managed to recover most of my old bookmarks, after all. I had forgotten that I did a drag-and-drop copy of my home folder to the external drive, but I found it a couple of days ago. All hunky-dory, now.
I dislike the "type-ahead find" feature in Camino because it interferes with my online crosswords: I start to type a solution, and it tries to be smart and looks for a matching link.
To disable it, edit the ~/Library/Application Support/Chimera/Profiles/default/randomstuff.slt/prefs.js and add this line: user_pref("accessibility.typeaheadfind", false);. That should disable it. At least, it did for me.
Of course, this brings up the question for me of why it's in a directory called Chimera. The Camino directory also exists, but the Camino project seems to have switched back to using the Chimera directory.
Well, it turns out that my feeling dizzy for the last several days was due to being off Zoloft cold-turkey. I had run out of prescription, called my doc, but inadvertently gave him the wrong number for the pharmacy. As my phone number had changed, he couldn't get back in touch with me and was expecting me to contact him, which I didn't. I had figured that it wasn't that big a deal.
I finally made an appointment with him, and saw him on Wednesday. I described the dizziness, and he said that they were due to going off the Zoloft. I didn't think I was affected that strongly by it.
