I hope you didn’t bank with Bank of America or Wachovia: there may be up to 1 million accounts which have had their data compromised. It seems to have been partly an inside job. Oh, and something to bear in mind: the US Government is now pushing for centralized driver’s license data. Don’t you love how there a bunch of bloody fools running the world?
The article also says that the data was sold to a bunch of clients of the fake debt collection agency. Clients included other collection agencies and law firms. I wonder if the clients knew where the data came from, and if so, are there provisions in the law for penalizing them.
